Hi, my name is Adam Schoales. I am a student at Ryerson University and also an independent content producer.
Firstly, let me thank you for taking the time to come to my site and check out my work. It feels really great to know that people are out there seeing the stuff I put my heart and soul into.
Secondly, I want to ask a favour of you. I've gone to great lengths to ensure that you can enjoy all the content I create on this site, free of charge - and I ask you to respect my wishes in return. I am a strong advocate of file-sharing, and believe that the last thing that content producers should be doing is restricting their viewers/listeners through the use of silly things like DRM. All the content on this site is DRM free to make sure that each and everyone one of you are able to watch it on any device/platform you wish.
Having said that, I want to remind you that this stuff, while free, is still copyrighted. Some works have been released under the creative commons, however in most cases they are copyrighted and owned by myself. And this is where my real request comes to play.
Please feel free to watch/listen to my stuff as much as you like. Feel free to pass it around to friends and colleagues. Feel free to have open discussions about everything on the site. However please, please give credit where credit is due. Please do not try and pass this stuff off as your own, and more importantly, do not try and get someone to pay for this stuff. Not only would you be screwing me, it's just plain bad juju.
Content is meant to be enjoyed, it's meant to be seen, it's meant to be heard. I am a firm believer in that. What good is a film if nobody sees it? What good is a song if nobody hears it?
I'm not by any means trying to advocate piracy, in fact I am fully against TRUE piracy. I think it is despicable that there are people out there stealing content and subsequently making money off of it. However, I firmly believe that you should not punish your fan-base for wanting to listen to your music. You should not sue the pants off of someone because they want to watch your film. Not only is it bad business, it's just plain stupid.
So please, pass this stuff along, share it with your friends, get them interested in the things you enjoy. Just remember to point them in my direction, and to let them know who created these works. Remember, I'm not doing this for money - I'm doing it for fun. Any money I make on the side comes from the hard work and dedication I have to my craft. So, please don't screw me. I hope to make more in the future.
Thanks, and enjoy the site.
