2023 Toronto International Film Festival

In 2024 the Toronto International Film Festival once again brought the best in cinema to Toronto audiences. Despite industry insecurity brought on by two major union strikes, the festival proceeded undeterred. I created a number of video components - including advertising spots, teasers, and a final wrap-up trailer - to help promote the event. In addition I was also a lead producer for Studio 9, TIFF’s interview suite. My work shaped the marketing of the festival, celebrated the art of film and its audiences, and honoured the filmmakers and creatives through our original content.

September 2023

Pre-Festival Hype Reel

In early 2023 the festival held a number of events across Canada and the United States to build anticipation for the upcoming festival. In order to build excitement I created a short “hype reel” to promote the festival and highlight some of the incredible moments from the past few years.

Brand Trailer

TIFF is more than just a film festival, but how do you communicate to a Festival audience just how much programming is available for all year-round outside of the iconic Festival.

I created this piece that would screen in front of every film that played at the Festival, and would continue to be used throughout the year to help highlight and promote our year-round programming and TIFF’s mission to, “transform the way people see the world through film”.

Launch Trailer

Early in the summer the marketing team wanted a short trailer to celebrate the launch of the festival creative and the availability of the first ticket packages.

I created this short 30 second spot to announce to the world that the Festvial was upon us and to help build excitement over the summer months.

Festival Wrap-up Trailer

The culmination of every festival is the closing night wrap-up trailer, which has been my main project during the festival for the last five years, and this year was no different. Encapsulating over 60 hours of footage captured during the course of the festival, and highlighting the most memorable moments, this year’s trailer once again celebrated those magical festival moments from the world’s largest public film festival, and the audiences that make it so special.

A huge thanks to my assistant editor Lee Cochran, without whom we would not have been able to finish the trailer on time.

"Hello Toronto" from Studio 9

During the festival itself I was one of the lead producers at Studio 9, TIFF’s interview suite located at the Royal York Hotel. Here we would interview filmmakers who were visiting the festival about their films, their process, and their inspirations.

In order to represent the sheer volume of talent to come through the studio I cut together a short promo that would highlight some of the familiar faces to touch down in Toronto.

Chloe Domont Discusses FAIR PLAY

My other major responsibility during this festival was the interview suite where I was responsible for the research, writing, and eventual editing of each interview I conducted, while also providing support for the shooting of the interviews conducted by my colleagues.

In this video Domont discusses the autobiographical origins of the film, how she wanted to subvert the tropes of various genres, and how toxic masculinity permeates not only the heart of the story but society itself.
